California

This will mostly be a photo dump of our trip to California.
We went down to San Diego so Luke could run the San Diego 100. It was up by Mount. Laguna...if you are familiar with the area. It was a nice area, but did not have the mountains and elevation gain that his other race have had. I won't go into a lot of details, but Luke was not able to finish the race and had to pull out around mile 60. He had a really bad respiratory infection and he couldn't breath....so sadly it was his first ever DNF.
So he started off looking like this...healthy...happy...

To this...Spending awhile in the medical tent trying to come back...

Sunday we were able to find a church and then went to see the San Diego temple. It had been one of my favorites for a long time so it was awesome to see it in person.

Later that evening we took the girls to see the ocean...for the first time.

Monday went to Sea World. This was a blast. The girls loved it and I think we had just as much fun as they did.

Tuesday we headed north to Ventura Ca. We met up with George and Alison from Patagonia and they took us surfing. It was a lot of fun. Brynlee was excited to be in her wet suit, and she even didn't mind getting on the surf board, but she was not excited with the taste of the salt water.

We ended the surf session with eating great fish tacos!

Wednesday we headed back home...
saying good by to the ocean...

Before hitting the road we went back to Patagonia HQ. George gave us a tour of the company and we were able to get a family photo by the shed where it all began....
